Employer Verification

Every employer on SourceHire is verified before they can post a single job. Verification is a manual review our team performs off-platform, as a precondition of access — not an automated check, and not something an employer can skip. This page explains what that means, what it covers, and — just as importantly — what it does not.

What verification means

A manual review, before any posting goes live.

Employer verification is a manual review we conduct off-platform before we grant an organization the ability to post. An employer with no completed verification never reaches the point of publishing a role. Because it is a precondition of access, every live job you see on SourceHire comes from an employer that passed it.

▸A one-time review, not continuous monitoring

Verification happens at the point an employer is granted access. We want to describe that honestly: it is a review at onboarding, not a live system that re-checks every posting or watches an employer's activity in real time. If something changes after the fact, the fraud-reporting process below is how it gets caught.

What we check

Enough to keep anonymous and impersonating actors out.

▸Organization legitimacy

We confirm the posting entity is a real organization and that the person we are granting access to is authorized to recruit on its behalf. The goal is to keep anonymous or impersonating actors off the platform.

▸Contactability and intent

We verify a working business point of contact and that the account is being opened to hire — not to harvest applicant data or run a scam. We keep the specifics of our review deliberately non-public so it is harder to game; the standard is applied to every employer before access is granted.

Every live job is from a verified employer

The standard is applied uniformly, upstream.

▸There are no unverified postings

Since verification gates access, there is no path for an unverified employer to have a live posting. You do not need to look for a per-job badge to know a role qualifies — the same standard is applied uniformly, before an employer can post, to every employer on the platform.

Verification means we vetted the employer's legitimacy. It is not a promise about any specific job's accuracy, the seniority or compensation described in a listing, or whether the role is still open.

It does not guarantee you will be contacted, interviewed, or hired, and it says nothing about how quickly an employer will move. Hiring timelines are entirely the employer's.

▸It is not an endorsement

A verified employer is one that cleared our onboarding review. It is not a rating of the company, an endorsement of its practices, or a guarantee about what it is like to work there.

Suspected fraud and reporting

Reports reach a human, and are tracked.

▸How to report a posting

If a listing looks fraudulent, misleading, or off in any way, report it at /report. Reports go to a human review queue, are acknowledged, and are tracked — nothing is dismissed automatically.

▸What happens next

A reported posting is reviewed by a person. Where warranted, we can quarantine the posting and re-examine the employer's access. Applicant-side abuse signals (throwaway domains, velocity, duplicate submissions) are handled separately by our fraud filtering; this reporting path is specifically for concerns about an employer or a listing.

If something feels off

Verification is a floor, not a substitute for judgment.

If a listing pressures you to pay to apply, asks for bank or government-ID details up front, pushes you off-platform immediately, or promises guaranteed hiring, treat those as red flags regardless of verification — and report them at /report.

▸You never pay an employer to apply

Applying on SourceHire is always free. Priority Review is an optional applicant-side visibility product and is never required by an employer. No legitimate employer will ask you to pay them to be considered.

Verification is a manual, off-platform review we perform before granting an employer access. We do not run automated per-job checks or continuously monitor postings after they go live — reporting is how post-access concerns reach us.
