The Role
We are looking for a Vice President of Public & Government Affairs to lead the organization's engagement with government, regulators, and external stakeholders. You will shape policy strategy, manage advocacy and relationships, and protect and advance the company's interests across jurisdictions.
What You’ll Do
● Policy Strategy: Own the public policy and government affairs strategy and priorities.
● Government Relations: Build and manage relationships with government, regulators, and policymakers.
● Advocacy: Lead advocacy, lobbying, and coalition engagement in line with company goals.
● Regulatory Monitoring: Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and advise leadership on impact.
● Stakeholder Engagement: Engage industry associations, community, and external stakeholders.
● Team Leadership: Build and lead the public and government affairs function.
What We’re Looking For
● Experience: 12+ years in government affairs, public policy, or related, with leadership experience.
● Relationships: Established relationships with government and regulatory stakeholders.
● Policy Expertise: Deep understanding of the legislative and regulatory landscape.
● Advocacy: Track record leading advocacy and stakeholder campaigns.
● Communication: Exceptional communication and executive-representation skills.
● Judgment: Sound political and reputational judgment.
● Education: Bachelor's required; advanced degree (JD/MPP) a plus.
Bonus Points
● Industry: Policy relationships relevant to the client's markets.
● Multi-Jurisdiction: Experience across federal, state, and local (or international) levels.
● Coalitions: Experience building coalitions and associations.
● Crisis: Experience managing reputational and regulatory issues.
Compensation & Benefits
We believe in paying top-of-market rates for top-tier talent. The base salary range for this role is $345,000 to $460,000, with exact placement determined by your skills, years of experience, and interview performance.
