Role Summary
Position Title: Classroom Teacher (Elementary, Middle, or High School)
Location: Various School Sites throughout San Francisco, CA
FTE: Full-Time (1.0)
Reports To: School Site Principal
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Student Engagement
Culturally Responsive Teaching: Design and implement rigorous, engaging lesson plans that reflect and validate the diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences of SFUSD students.
Data-Driven Practice: Utilize formative and summative assessments to track student progress, differentiate instruction, and provide targeted support for English Language Learners (ELL) and students with IEPs.
Tech Integration: Leverage modern digital learning tools and district-provided platforms to enhance student learning and foster 21st-century skills.
Classroom Culture & Equity
Restorative Practices: Build a safe, inclusive, and joyful classroom community using restorative justice frameworks and positive behavior interventions.
High Expectations: Maintain an environment where academic rigor goes hand-in-hand with emotional safety, ensuring every student feels capable of high-level achievement.
Collaboration & Community
Professional Learning Communities (PLCs): Collaborate closely with grade-level and department peers to align curriculum, share best practices, and analyze student data.
Family Partnership: Proactively communicate with families and caregivers as true partners in their child’s education, respecting linguistic and cultural differences.
Qualifications & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Credential: Valid California Teaching Credential (or eligibility for an emergency/internship credential) covering the appropriate grade level and subject area.
Language Authorization: English Learner (EL) Authorization (e.g., CLAD/CTEL) is required.

Bilingualism: Proficiency in Cantonese, Spanish, Mandarin, Tagalog, or Vietnamese is highly valued for our immersion and biliteracy pathways.
