About the role
About Us
We are a staffing services technology company that helps organizations design, build, and scale digital products and engineering capabilities. Our teams deliver end-to-end software development, engineering, and design services, and we provide flexible staffing solutions to augment internal teams with specialized talent—quickly and reliably.
The Role
We are looking for a talented Network Engineer to join our distributed engineering team. Whether you are a mid-career engineer looking to broaden your scope or a senior-level Network Architect ready to lead critical infrastructure and connectivity decisions, we have a spot for you on our ladder. You will work across the full network lifecycle, bridging the gap between physical infrastructure, cloud networking, and security to ensure seamless connectivity and system stability.
What You’ll Do
Design & Deploy: Design, implement, and operate scalable, reliable network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, SD-WAN, Cloud Networking) that supports rapid business growth and service reliability.
Collaborate: Work closely with DevOps, Security, Systems Engineers, and Product Managers in an Agile environment to define network requirements, connectivity strategies, and SLAs.
Operations & Reliability: Ensure high availability, low latency, and observability of production networks; implement robust monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-incident reviews (Root Cause Analysis).
Architecture: Contribute to system-wide architectural decisions (hybrid cloud connectivity, VPNs, load balancing, firewalls, zero-trust security) and help evolve the network stack to meet future demand.
Automation & Tooling: Build and maintain network automation scripts and "Infrastructure as Code" (IaC) for provisioning, configuration management, and compliance checks (NetDevOps).
Security & Compliance: Implement rigorous network security practices by managing firewalls, ACLs, and segmentation, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Mentorship: (For Senior+ roles) Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on complex networking and automation initiatives.
Maintenance: Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade network hardware/software; manage capacity planning, lifecycle updates, and vendor relationships.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: 3+ years of professional Network Engineering, Network Operations, or related experience (Level determined by interview performance).
Technical Stack: Proficiency with major networking vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or Palo Alto) and strong understanding of TCP/IP fundamentals.
Routing & Switching: Deep expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS) and switching technologies (VLANs, STP, VxLAN).
Cloud Networking: Extensive experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) specifically regarding VPC peering, Direct Connect/ExpressRoute, Transit Gateways, and cloud load balancing.
Network Security: Strong hands-on experience with Firewalls (Next-Gen), VPNs (IPsec, SSL), IDS/IPS, and NAC solutions.
Automation: Experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Python/Netmiko) to replace manual configuration tasks.
Observability: Familiarity with network monitoring/observability tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, PRTG, Datadog, Wireshark) and packet analysis.
Linux/Systems: Solid understanding of Linux networking stack and basic server administration.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for a remote-first culture and cross-team collaboration.
Bonus Points
Certifications: Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, PCNSE, or AWS Certified Advanced Networking.
SD-WAN: Deep experience implementing and managing SD-WAN solutions (VeloCloud, Meraki, Fortinet).
Container Networking: Knowledge of Kubernetes networking (CNI plugins like Calico, Flannel, or Cilium).
Contributions: Contributions to open-source projects or internal network tooling.
Compliance: Familiarity with regulated industries (SOC2, HIPAA, PCI-DSS) or compliance frameworks.
Compensation & Benefits
We believe in paying top-of-market rates for top-tier talent. The base salary range for this role is $115,000 to $250,000, with exact placement determined by your skills, years of experience, and interview performance.
Additional Benefits:
Equity: Competitive stock option package.
Remote Setup: Home office stipend to get your workspace set up perfectly.
Health: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Time Off: Flexible PTO policy + Company Holidays.
Growth: Annual learning and development budget.
Retirement: 401(k) matching plan.
