Our teams deliver end-to-end software development, engineering, and design services, and we provide flexible staffing solutions to augment internal teams with specialized talent—quickly and reliably.
The Role
We are looking for an exceptional and visionary Executive Vice President of Engineering to serve as the senior-most engineering leader within our organization. This is a C-suite adjacent executive leadership role for a seasoned engineering executive who is ready to define and drive the overall engineering strategy, build and scale a world-class multi-discipline engineering organization, and own the technical vision and delivery excellence of our entire engineering practice. You will serve as the ultimate technical authority across all engineering disciplines, partnering directly with the CEO, CFO, and Board of Directors to shape the long-term growth, innovation, and competitive positioning of the firm. This role is for a builder, a visionary, and an operator who can lead at the highest levels of strategic thinking while remaining connected to the technical realities of delivering complex engineering programs.
What You’ll Do
• Executive Technical Leadership: Serve as the senior-most technical authority across all engineering disciplines including civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and project controls; define and enforce firm-wide engineering standards, quality benchmarks, and technical excellence frameworks.
• Organizational Strategy & Vision: Partner with the CEO and executive leadership team to define the long-term engineering strategy, organizational structure, and capability roadmap; set the vision for how the engineering practice will grow, evolve, and differentiate in the marketplace over a 3–5 year horizon.
• Team Building & Organizational Leadership: Recruit, develop, and retain a world-class engineering leadership team including Engineering Directors, Principal Engineers, and Practice Leads across all disciplines; establish clear organizational structures, career pathways, and leadership pipelines to scale the engineering organization sustainably.
• Portfolio Oversight: Provide executive-level oversight across the entire engineering project portfolio; ensure consistent on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery across all simultaneous programs and client engagements; establish portfolio-level governance frameworks and escalation protocols.
• Business Development & Growth: Partner with the Chief Revenue Officer and Business Development leadership to drive engineering-led revenue growth; lead pursuits for marquee clients and strategic accounts; serve as the executive sponsor for key client relationships and act as the senior technical voice in major proposals, presentations, and contract negotiations.
• Cross-Functional Executive Collaboration: Work closely with the CEO, CFO, COO, and other C-suite leaders to align engineering strategy with overall business objectives; collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations to ensure the engineering organization is properly resourced, structured, and positioned for growth.
• Technology & Innovation Leadership: Champion the adoption and integration of emerging technologies across the engineering practice including BIM, digital twins, AI-assisted design, cloud-based collaboration platforms, and advanced analytics; establish an innovation culture that continuously seeks to improve engineering efficiency, quality, and competitiveness.
• Standards, Compliance & Risk: Establish and maintain firm-wide engineering governance frameworks; ensure all engineering deliverables meet or exceed applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements; own enterprise-level technical risk management and quality assurance across the full project portfolio.
• Culture & Talent Development: Cultivate an inclusive, high-performance, and growth-oriented engineering culture across a fully distributed, multi-discipline workforce; champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the engineering organization; invest deeply in talent development, mentorship, and succession planning at all levels.
• Financial Ownership: Own the engineering practice P&L at the enterprise level; manage multi-million dollar budgets, staffing plans, utilization targets, and profitability goals in partnership with the CFO and Finance leadership; drive operational efficiency and margin improvement across the engineering business unit.
• Board & Stakeholder Reporting: Prepare and present engineering strategy, portfolio performance, and organizational health updates to the Board of Directors, investors, and executive leadership; represent the engineering organization at the highest levels of corporate governance.
