About the role
About Us
We are a staffing services technology company that helps organizations design, build, and scale digital products and engineering capabilities. Our teams deliver end-to-end software development, engineering, and design services, and we provide flexible staffing solutions to augment internal teams with specialized talent—quickly and reliably.
The Role
We are looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join our distributed engineering team. Whether you are a mid-career engineer looking to broaden your scope or a senior-level DevOps practitioner ready to lead infrastructure and reliability decisions, we have a spot for you on our ladder. You will work across the full software delivery lifecycle, bridging the gap between development and operations to accelerate deployment and ensure system stability.
What You’ll Do
Build & Ship: Design, implement, and operate scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure and automation pipelines that support rapid software delivery and service reliability.
Collaborate: Work closely with Software Engineers, SREs, QA, and Product Managers in an Agile environment to define infrastructure requirements, deployment strategies, and SLAs.
Operations & Reliability: Ensure high availability, performance, and observability of production services; implement robust monitoring, alerting, incident response, and post-incident reviews (Root Cause Analysis).
Architecture: Contribute to system-wide architectural decisions (cloud infrastructure, networking, containerization, CI/CD, security) and help evolve the tech stack to meet future demand.
Automation & Tooling: Build and maintain "Infrastructure as Code" (IaC) for provisioning, configuration management, deployment pipelines, and cost optimization.
Security & Compliance: Implement DevSecOps practices by integrating security into the build pipeline, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards.
Mentorship: (For Senior+ roles) Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership on complex platform and automation initiatives.
Maintenance: Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade infrastructure components; manage capacity planning, lifecycle updates, and database reliability.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: 3+ years of professional DevOps, SRE, Systems Engineering, or related experience (Level determined by interview performance).
Technical Stack: Proficiency with Linux-based environments, scripting (Python, Bash, or Go), and strong coding fundamentals.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Deep expertise with automation/configuration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, or CloudFormation).
Cloud Platforms: Extensive experience with major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and managing cloud-native services.
Containerization & Orchestration: Strong hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or AKS).
CI/CD: Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, CircleCI) to enable seamless deployment.
Observability: Familiarity with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK/EFK, OpenTelemetry) and incident management.
Networking: Solid understanding of VPCs, subnets, load balancing, DNS, and secure networking practices.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, essential for a remote-first culture and cross-team collaboration.
Bonus Points
Deep experience with GitOps workflows (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux).
Experience with Serverless architectures (Lambda, Cloud Functions) or edge computing.
Knowledge of service mesh technologies (Istio, Linkerd).
Contributions to open-source projects or internal platform tooling.
Familiarity with regulated industries (SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR) or compliance frameworks
Compensation & Benefits
We believe in paying top-of-market rates for top-tier talent. The base salary range for this role is $115,000 to $250,000, with exact placement determined by your skills, years of experience, and interview performance.
Additional Benefits:
Equity: Competitive stock option package.
Remote Setup: Home office stipend to get your workspace set up perfectly.
Health: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Time Off: Flexible PTO policy + Company Holidays.
Growth: Annual learning and development budget.
Retirement: 401(k) matching plan.
