About the role
About Us
We are a staffing services technology company that helps organizations design, build, and scale digital products and engineering capabilities. Our teams deliver end-to-end software development, engineering, and design services, and we provide flexible staffing solutions to augment internal teams with specialized talent—quickly and reliably.
The Role
We are looking for a talented and experienced Construction Manager to join our distributed project delivery team. Whether you are a mid-career construction professional looking to broaden your scope in infrastructure/building construction or a senior-level Construction Manager ready to lead critical project execution and field operations decisions, we have a spot for you on our ladder. You will work across the full construction project lifecycle, bridging the gap between engineering design, contractor management, and project controls to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
What You’ll Do
• Construction Management & Oversight: Lead and manage the day-to-day construction activities on complex engineering and building projects; oversee contractor and subcontractor performance, monitor field progress, and ensure all construction activities are executed in accordance with contract documents, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
• Collaborate: Work closely with Project Engineers, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers, Project Controls Engineers, and Project Managers in an Agile project environment to define construction requirements, sequencing plans, resource allocations, and project budgets.
• Schedule & Cost Management: Monitor construction progress against baseline schedules and budgets; identify schedule and cost variances, implement corrective actions, and report project status to project teams and client stakeholders using industry-standard project controls tools (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar).
• Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts and subcontracts; manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and claims in accordance with contract requirements; ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled by contractors and subcontractors.
• Quality Management: Develop, implement, and enforce project quality management plans; conduct field inspections, review test and inspection reports, manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), and ensure all construction activities comply with project specifications, codes, and quality standards.
• Health, Safety & Environment: Champion a strong safety culture on all project sites; develop, implement, and enforce project health, safety, and environmental (HSE) plans; conduct safety audits, toolbox talks, and incident investigations in accordance with OSHA regulations and client safety requirements.
• Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact between the owner, design team, contractors, and regulatory agencies; facilitate construction progress meetings, prepare and distribute meeting minutes, and manage stakeholder expectations throughout the construction phase.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate construction risks; develop and maintain project risk registers and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize project cost, schedule, and safety impacts.
• Mentorship: Mentor junior construction managers, field engineers, and project support staff; provide technical leadership on complex construction execution challenges and contractor management issues.
• Commissioning & Closeout: Oversee project commissioning, startup, and closeout activities including punch list management, as-built documentation, systems testing, and final handover to the owner or operations team.
What We’re Looking For
• Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience: 5–15+ years of hands-on construction management experience on complex building, infrastructure, transportation, oil & gas, or industrial construction projects.
• Construction Knowledge: Deep understanding of construction methods, sequencing, means and methods, and field operations across one or more construction sectors (commercial, industrial, infrastructure, heavy civil, or oil & gas).
• Contract Administration: Proven experience administering construction contracts (NEC, FIDIC, AIA, EJCDC); strong working knowledge of RFI and submittal management, change order evaluation, and claims avoidance strategies.
• Schedule & Cost Management: Strong working knowledge of project controls principles including schedule management (Primavera P6, Microsoft Project), cost tracking, earned value management (EVM), and change control processes.
• Quality Management: Experience developing and enforcing project quality management plans; familiarity with quality control inspection procedures, non-conformance reporting, and corrective action processes.
• Health & Safety: Deep knowledge of OSHA regulations, construction safety standards, and site HSE management; experience developing and enforcing project-specific safety plans and conducting incident investigations.
• Cross-Functional Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote and field-based environment and communicate construction status and technical issues clearly to engineers, contractors, clients, and executive stakeholders.
• Technology Proficiency: Proficiency in construction management platforms such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar; familiarity with BIM coordination workflows and digital project delivery tools.
Bonus Points
• Certifications: Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP), OSHA 30, or PE/EIT license; additional certifications such as LEED AP or AGC Project Manager certification are a plus.
• BIM & Digital Delivery: Experience with BIM coordination workflows, clash detection (Navisworks), and model-based construction documentation; familiarity with 4D construction sequencing and digital twin technologies.
• Oil & Gas / Energy: Experience managing construction on large-scale oil & gas, LNG, power generation, or renewable energy projects including EPC and EPCM delivery models.
• Transportation & Infrastructure: Experience managing complex transportation, highway, bridge, or transit construction projects in coordination with state DOTs or federal agencies (FHWA, FTA).
• Federal Contracting: Experience managing federally funded construction projects with strict regulatory compliance, reporting, and documentation requirements (FAR/DFARS).
• Commissioning & Startup: Deep experience managing system commissioning, startup, and operational readiness activities including integrated systems testing, punch list management, and owner training programs.
• Sustainability: Familiarity with sustainable construction practices, LEED certification requirements, and green building construction methods.
• Data & Reporting: Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) for construction performance dashboards and executive-level reporting.
