About the role
About Us
We are a staffing services technology company that helps organizations design, build, and scale digital products and engineering capabilities. Our teams deliver end-to-end software development, engineering, and design services, and we provide flexible staffing solutions to augment internal teams with specialized talent—quickly and reliably.
The Role
We are looking for a talented Business Analyst to join our distributed engineering team. Whether you are an experienced analyst looking to broaden your scope or a senior-level BA ready to drive strategic initiatives and improve business outcomes, we have a spot for you on our ladder. You will work across the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and analysis to delivery oversight and optimization.
What You’ll Do
• Build & Ship (Business Delivery): Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements; translate needs into actionable analyses and project plans that support software delivery and service reliability.
• Collaborate: Partner with Platform Engineers, DevOps, SREs, Product Managers, and Engineers in an Agile environment to define system requirements, SLAs, and success criteria; facilitate cross-functional workshops and decision-making.
• Operations & Reliability: Assess and document operational requirements to ensure high availability, performance, and observability; help define monitoring and incident response requirements, and support post-incident reviews with business-focused outcomes.
• Architecture & Strategy: Contribute to system-wide architectural decisions by aligning infrastructure, networking, storage, CI/CD, and security considerations with business goals; help scope future-proof initiatives.
• Change with Automation & Tooling: Identify opportunities for automation and tooling that improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and control costs; translate automation benefits into business case terms.
• Security & Compliance: Ensure business requirements reflect secure-by-default design principles and regulatory/compliance considerations; assist with risk assessments and control mappings.
• Mentorship & Stakeholder Enablement: For Senior+ roles, mentor junior analysts, facilitate knowledge transfer, and provide guidance on complex platform initiatives.
• Maintain & Optimize: Track project health, manage scope changes, help with capacity planning, and support lifecycle updates for business processes and systems.
What We’re Looking For
• Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in business analysis, product analytics, requirements management, or related roles (level determined by interview performance).
• Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong ability to translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes; excellent written and verbal communication for a remote-first culture.
• Stakeholder Management: Proven experience coordinating with diverse stakeholders across product, engineering, operations, and leadership.
• Documentation & Techniques: Proficient with requirements elicitation, process mapping, data analysis, and modeling; familiarity with user stories, use cases, flow diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
• Data & Metrics: Comfort with defining and tracking KPIs, success metrics, and business impact; basic data analysis skills to validate outcomes.
• Tools & Platform Knowledge: Exposure to project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Jira/Confluence, Aha!, Trello, MS Teams, Slack); basic familiarity with cloud platforms and DevOps concepts is a plus.
• Observability & Compliance Mindset: Understanding of monitoring concepts, incident response processes, and regulatory/compliance considerations as they relate to business processes.
• CI/CD & DevOps Awareness: Awareness of how continuous delivery pipelines can impact business value and risk, even if not implementing technically.
Compensation & Benefits
We believe in paying competitive rates for top-tier talent. The base salary range for this role is $215,000 to $250,000, with exact placement determined by your skills, years of experience, and interview performance.
